We are local residents and organisations (big and small) in BS3 campaigning for a new railway station in Ashton Gate on the Portishead branch line.
We want a new station opening in 2019 with two trains an hour in both directions – towards Portishead and Temple Meads.
The Friends of Ashton Gate Station delivered a petition, signed by over 5,850 of you, calling on the Mayor of Bristol to progress the station project. The City Council debated our petition and expressed widespread, cross-party support for our objectives.
Mayor Marvin Rees has commissioned a new feasibility study for various railway improvements in Bristol including taking a fresh look at the Business Case for Ashton Gate station. You can read the Council’s press statement about it here. Funding pressures on the Council meant the study has been delayed but is now due to take place in the 2017/18 financial year. The team will discuss demand for the station with local businesses and organisations, including Bristol Sport and ourselves. The Mayor wants the station to be able to serve the match-day demands of the new stadium. Great progress!

Local businesses are rallying to our cause as well. Both Bristol Sport and the University of the West of England (UWE) have sent us messages of support. Click here to read them.
The new station will serve both local residents and the many visitors to the area. Click the icons on our new map to see a few of the places that will be a short walk away:
